Jamelia and Dan made me fall in love with baby’s breath. Their florist (the amazing Rachel from Cosmos Florist) created a gorgeous chuppah out of them, and I’ve never seen something so simple and yet so cool. Just as Jamelia and Dan were.
Dan is from Israel and Jamelia grew up in the states in a Carribean family. It feels like a miraculous act of fate that these two met, and I’m so glad they did because they looked so effortlessly cool together.
They picked Celestine for their day, which is one of my all time favorite venue in Brooklyn; its views are unmatched, especially during sunset when the sun graces the backyard with magical golden light.
The day was HOT so the party was happening both indoors and outdoors, with the big side windows open for a smooth transition between the two spaces. It was so fun seeing Jamelia’s family discover and embrace Jewish traditions, like the hora which was improvised some time during the reception.
It was such a fun and lovely day with an amazing mix of culture that made me love NYC even more. Congrats to the couple!
