Days getting shorter and evenings getting cooler are not necessarily the worst thing, because it means it is time for Fall weddings and Fall engagement sessions.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Summer. I want to live in Summer all year round. That’s why I’m leaving for Africa this coming Winter (can’t wait, by the way), but Summer is sweaty and bright, and those two things don’t work well with photography.
So how does Fall work so well for artistic wedding photography?
Thank you, Captain Obvious. But seriously, Fall offers amazing tones to images. It makes your bokeh look all orange and red and simply gives more intense texture to any background.
I love leaving my house in the Summer with a simple dress and a pair of sandals, but I gotta say, layering is so great for a photo shoot. It offers more options and allows for more cute details and accessories.
3: Golden Hour forever.
Golden Hour is that last hour before sunset when the light is softer. During Winter, every hour has a golden touch to it. As opposed to a high rise sun that drops harsh shadows on people and objects, a lower sun makes for beautiful warm portraits. An engagement session in the Fall can be done at pretty much any hour, and will always give gorgeous results.
I leave you now with a few pics. There is no other way to show you why Fall weddings are the prettiest!
